Bad Day
Today is not my day. I’m going to take a minute or two to voice my frustration. I hope you don’t mind.
Last week my car failed its emission test. The DMV person told me that my coolant sensor level was too high. On the way to work I called Judy (a fellow Jetta driver) to get a mechanic recommendation. I call her guy, he refers me to the VW dealership where I bought the car. Before I went into work, I stopped at the Post Office to get stamps. When I return to my car, it won’t shift into gear from park. I try for 20 minutes to get into gear. No luck. I call the dealership repair department, the guy suggested that i step down real hard on the break. Still not shifting. I’m not going anywhere, so I called Triple A for a tow to Concours. An hour and a half later the tow truck shows up. After we get there and he unhooks my car, the tow guy wants to “settle up”. I learn that Triple A only covers the first five miles of a tow. What a scam.
The guy at Concours tells me that my problems may or may not be covered under warranty. We won’t find out until later, as they may or may not be able to look at it today.
Les picks me up to bring me back to the office. By this time, it’s around noon. We decided to stop at Georgie Porgies for lunch. Les orders a cheeseburger with the works, I order a cheeseburger with just ketchup and mustard. When our order comes, Les gets what he ordered, I get a hamburger with the works. I politely return mine, and inform the older woman that took my order of the error. Instead of apologizing, she got pissy with me and wanted to make a production out of this. She marched over to our table to look at Les’ burger (to see if it was mine) and asked for our order ticket (which we gave her when we picked up the food from the counter). She was determined to prove that this mistake was somehow my doing.
I’m just waiting for a stranger to barge in my office and punch me in the stomach for no reason today.
