Before Sunset

After a long weekend in Chicago, I spent part of my Sunday taking in the last matinee showing of Before Sunset, Richard Linklater’s sequel to his Before Sunrise. The film’s main appeal is how much you like these characters. When the it ends, you wish you could spend more time with them. Their chemistry is genuine. After sitting through so many crappy romantic films with mismatched leads and bad chemistry, it’s nice to see everything work so well in this. If you haven’t seen Before Sunrise, rent it. Don’t go into this without seeing that first.
