Garden State

I love Natalie Portman in this. Her Sam character is one is the most interesting, original characters i’ve seen in a movie in a long time. Garden State is very good. It suffers occasionally from trying to be a little too quirky. Music is used very effectively. The dialogue is fast and clever. It’s a movie that has its heart in the right place. It reminded me of Wes Anderson’s movies.
