Moving and Leff's

It’s been busy couple of days for me.

My sister’s twins had a birthday on Sunday, so I made a trip to Woodstock. The kids are cute. I love goofing around with them.

Procrastinating like never before, I started to pack my apartment Monday night for the movers that were coming Tuesday morning at 8:00 AM. It was a really late night.

I took most of Tuesday off from work as I oversaw the movers. This was actually kind of fun. I had this old beat-up couch that I wasn’t going to take to the new house. I asked the guys to take it down to the curb for me. They couldn’t get the couch through the door, so they threw it over the balcony.

Last night, Jim stopped over on his way home from work. We went to Leff’s Lucky Town. The place was packed. We took full advantage of the Tuesday night special on buffalo wings and watched the Brewers pull one out in the tenth inning. The bar advertises that they sell something called “Deano’s pickled eggs” for a dollar apiece. Jim’s curiosity got the best of him. When he asked for one, all of the bartenders stopped what they were doing to take a quick look at “the guy who ordered the egg”. Our bartender brought out this big jar filled with a dark brown liquid and with a pair of tongs pulled out Jim’s egg. I had to turn away. I couldn’t watch him eat it. I thought I might get sick.

I want to say, on the record, that I believe you’re making up the part about ALL the bartenders stopping their work to look at the guy who ordered the egg.

The egg was good. That’s all there is to it. I can’t help it you were traumatized as a child by mayonnaise and now have a sensitive stomach when it comes to bizarre, true-Milwaukee foods.
