Music I Like

I hung out with Raj last night. We talked about music. I started thinking about what i’ve been enjoying recently. Here’s a list of my favorite songs from 2004 to share with all of you.

Morrissey - “First Of The Gang To Die” and “Irish Blood, English Heart”
His new album is surprising good. These two songs are the best on it.

Athlete - “You Got The Style”
It feels like summer. It’s really a catchy tune.

They Might Be Giants - “Bastard Wants To Hit Me”
The first time I heard this, I couldn’t stop laughing.

Modest Mouse - “Float On”
2004’s “Seven Nation Army”, the tune that you can’t escape this year.

The Cure - “The End Of The World”
I wasn’t super crazy about their new album, but this song is among the very best Cure singles.

TV on the Radio - “Staring At The Sun”
The lead singer’s voice often reminds me of Peter Gabriel. I love the beginning , I always turn the volume way up for it.

Air - “Run” and “Surfing On A Rocket’
Talkie Walkie is probably my favorite album of recent memory. The whole thing is outstanding. I like these two the best.

Franz Ferdinand - “Take Me Out”
I love the tempo change halfway through.

Rachael Yamagata - “Letter Read” and “Wore Me Down”
I’ve written about her before. She’s great.

The Killers - “Somebody Told Me”
This song just plain out rocks.
