Lost

It was less than five minutes into the series premiere of Lost that one of the plane crash survivors walks past the plane engine and gets sucked into it. It was at that moment that the new show had its hooks in me. The first hour of Lost was fantastic television.

Some of my thoughts:

#1 What is that thing? Dinosaur? a King Kong style ape? I can’t wait to find out.

#2 There’s something up with the hobbit. What was he up to in the bathroom?

#3 How about the guy with the orange rind in his mouth that sat out in the down pour? What’s his deal?

#4 Most importantly, where’s Ricardo Montalban?

I loved the fact that there were no commercials for the first 20 minutes. they sort of had to do that - there was no time to catch your breath.

The pilot who got grabbed by the mystery monster was Greg Gumbel. He’s a childhood friend of the producer, and he gets a part in everything that Abrahms makes - Felicity, Alias, this, and he’s also developing another series that will star his buddy as a bounty hunter.

The bald guy with the orange also had a big role in Alias. My theory is that it’s not just the same actor, it’s the same character, and he’s behind the crash. I don’t trust him.

Guy getting sucked into the jet engine was priceless.

I loved the show too! I hate sci-fi and suffer through a lot of it because it’s my husband’s favorite and his penis gives him the right of the remote! But, this was a great show. I think it’s a dinosaur. What was the hobbit doing in the bathroom and why didn’t anyone make more of an issue of it? I liked the counting to 5 trick and may use it sometime.
