Alex Lloyd

Australian singer/songwriter Alex Lloyd’s Watching Angels Mend is one of the my favorite albums of the past few years. It’s hopeful romantic pop in the same vein as Coldplay or David Gray. “Bus Ride” and “Amazing” are fantastic songs. This weekend, I found an import copy of Lloyd’s 2003 follow-up to Watching Angels Mend. The new disc, Distant Light is equally good. His website has the video up for “1000 Miles”, my favorite song on the disc.

The Bottom Line “Lucky Ones” is one of the best CDs I’ve heard this year. There isn’t anything on here that is not bad. Pat’s last CD set the table with a smash hit song but this one will undoubtedly make Pat a household name to everyone. “Lucky Ones” features many potential hit singles so it’s definitely worth picking up.
