SpongeBob Squarepants

I’ve had limited exposure to SpongeBob Squarepants, but I find myself fascinated by the cartoon phenomenon about this spongeman who wears a shirt and tie and lives in an underwater pineapple. I only know SpongeBob from seeing his image is on t-shirts, beach towels, cereal boxes, etc.

Over the weekend I saw The Incredibles. Before the movie played, a preview for the SpongeBob movie came on. The kids in the audience lost it. They were clapping, screaming and crying. SpongeBob and his starfish(?) friend drive around around in a hamburger, eat ice cream and team up with David Hasslhoff. What is this? Why are these kids going nuts? Am I in hell? None of it made sense to me. Was it supposed to? Probably not, but i’m strangely drawn to it.

You can catch Spongebob Squarepants on Nickelodeon at 7:30 a.m. or 7:00 p.m. As a mother of a 7 year old, I had the same thoughts when I first saw it. What is so entertaining about a yellow sponge and his sidekick Patrick the starfish. But once you watch it you get hooked and can’t explain it. Friday I will be taking my son to see it so I will let you know if it as good.

Like I said, I went to see the movie Spongebob Squarepants….tell me something why would Patrick the starfish….yes, he is a starfish be soaring in the sky with a flag between his ass cheeks….classical…David Hasslehoff was in the movie too…guess that is what happens to a person in the celebrity status with a DUI under their belts….I did come out of the movie with pondering full heartly if Patrick the Starfish is Retarded?????? Can something that stupid???? Suggestion, drink before you see-could get ya a good laugh. Deanna
