Ocean's Twelve
The action picks up three and half years after Ocean’s Eleven. Terry Benedict (Andy Garcia) has tracked down all of the members of the crew that robbed his casinos in the first film. He gives them two weeks to get him his money back, with interest, or else. Ocean’s gang heads to Europe for a couple of heists to repay Benedict.
The banter between Clooney, Pitt, Damon, etc. is fun. The sub plot with Zeta-Jones and Pitt as lovers turned adversaries is interesting. There are a few cool cameos.
On the other hand, the heist plot is a let down. There isn’t much of Garcia’s character, one of the better parts of the first movie (“Congratulations, you’re a dead man”). The main villain this time is a conceited master thief played by Vincent Cassel (the star of Read My Lips, a great movie from a few years ago), who helps Benedict find the Eleven.
Overall, it’s an enjoyable movie, but a definite step down from Ocean’s Eleven.
