Super Bowl Commercials

Bryan and Dan came over tonight for the game. It ended up being a lot closer than I thought it would be. The commercials are usually one of the highlights of the evening. Tonight’s crop were a bit lackluster. As voted on by the three of us, the best were:

#1(with a bullet) - The FedEx/Kinkos spot with Burt Reynolds, a bear and Journey

#2 - Godaddy.com’s commercial

#3 - The Frito Lay ad with the kids throwing MC Hammer back over the fence.

Burt Reynolds hands down, didn’t even notice anything else. Although I do find it frightening a bit that MC Hammer is a retro pop cultural touchpoint. It wasn’t long ago I was doing layups in my driveway to “Can’t touch this” on Milwaukee’s Hot 102. Hammer’s 15 years removed!!!! Holy crap. Janell’s high now school senior brother was 2 years old before Hammer even hooked up on The Addams family Soundtrack in 1990. Scary.
