Animation Show
I spent my Thursday evening at The Times Cinema checking out Mike Judge and Don Hertzfeldt’s 2005 edition of The Animation Show. This year’s collection of animated shorts was fantastic. Tonight was the last night of its run in Milwaukee. If you’re an animation fan, pick it up when it arrives on DVD. Most of the shorts are really...

Easter
It was a good Easter. Here’s my favorite picture from the afternoon. From left to right: The Godfather, my Goddaughter Larissa (holding a chocolate replica of the cross that Jesus died on that I bought for her) and my sister Sue....

Naughty Friday
Happy Naughty Friday everyone. Last year Dan and I met at noon for a fish fry to begin 21 hours worth of shenanigans that ended with a bad run at Potawatomi around 8:00am the next morning. We were joined by Jen, Bryan, Judy and Les at various stages of the evening. Dan coined the phase “keep it moving” which served...

Home
We’re back. I’m exhausted. The trip was outstanding. I’ve got some great stories and pictures to post in the coming days. Here’s one quick memory to share before I catch up on some sleep: One afternoon Connie and were leisurely strolling the streets of Paris’ Latin Quarter looking for a place to eat. An old hunched over woman, probably seventy-something,...

Celebrity Pool
I was watching Bravo the other night and saw a commercial for a new series called Celebrity Pool. I can understand the appeal of watching poker on TV, celebrity or otherwise (picking up strategies, etc.), but who’s going to watch this? I can think of few things less interesting than watching other people play billiards. My personal version of hell...

Last Weekend
Friday night’s Public Allies event at the Pfister was a blast. It’s always nice to see Raj’s Dad. Unfortunately, I didn’t win any of the auction items. Winning a Land Rover would have been nice. On Saturday, My good friend and business associate, Dan (the other Dan, as he refers to himself on this site) was celebrating his 30th birthday....

Getting Ready
It has been a while since my last post. I’ve been busy getting ready for the vacation. Finishing stuff at work, shopping for the trip, etc. FYI: I found a really helpful travel site, www.tripadvisor.com. It has tons of information about hotels, restaurants and attractions for countless destinations. The forums on the site are great. So far, we have...

I haven’t been able to sleep very well tonight. After playing City of Heroes for a while, i’ve been goofing around online. Here are some of the interesting things i’ve found. The trailer for the new Flaming Lips documentary, The Fearless Freaks The video for “Krafty”, the first single from New Order’s soon to be released album. The internet trailer...

Lost: The Hurley episode
I nearly fell off my chair this morning when I read on AICN that tonight’s Lost was its last new episode for six weeks. WTF?!! Cursed numbers? Give a crazy french woman a hug, get a battery? Locke is the most sensitive guy on the island? That’s all they’re giving us before a month and a half hiatus? It...
