Thanks Brookfield Police Department - You're the Best!

I was running a few minutes late for work this morning so I may have been driving a little faster than usual. I was pulled over on Bluemound a few blocks from my office. During the fifteen minutes that I sat in my car waiting for the inevitable ticket, I saw three other drivers getting pulled over in front of me. Later, I found out that our receptionist, Cara, was pulled over and given a ticket fifteen minutes before me at the same spot.

When the officer came back with my citation I asked about all of the cars getting pulled over. He told me that they had seven cars out pulling motorists over in the Bluemound/Moreland area this morning. I asked him about the number of tickets they had given out so far. He laughed and said “a lot”. With a smile, he gave me a half sheet of white paper sporting the city of Brookfield and the police department’s logos. It said, “You have been stopped during a ‘ClickIt!WhyRiskIt?’ statewide traffic safety campaign…For your saftey, and the saftey of all users of our streets and highways, please observe and obey the posted speed limits and all other traffic regulations’.

Four points and $77.20 later, I feel much safer. Thanks Brookfield Police Department.
