Q101 Block Party

Jeff, Jason and I spent Friday night at Q101’s Block Party in Chicago. The musical lineup (Hot Hot Heat, Interpol and Queens of the Stone Age) was outstanding. With tickets for a mere 20 bones each, it was a great value too. Unfortunately, these types of festivals are made affordable through sponsors like Budweiser. So, it was Bud Light all night. I guess you can’t have everything.

Interpol was fantastic. The band, who have been compared to Joy Division, play this kind of gloomy rock. It’s a very cool sound. The set was short, but sweet.

I went to Goose Island festival in Chicago a couple of years ago…Sonic Youth, Bob Mould, and Guided By Voices. Goose Island is definitely better than Budweiser.
