Happy Bastille Day
Let’s give a big shout out to all of our friends in France celebrating Bastille Day today. 216 years ago on this date the French revolted against their King, Louis the 16th. They did so by storming the Bastille, a prison where the King kept people he didn’t like. Although there were only seven prisoners in the Bastille at the time, this act signified the beginning of the end for the monarchy and the start of the French Revolution. Four years later, in an example of “everybody gets what’s coming to them”, Louis the 16th (that no good rotten bastard) was found guilty of treason and had his head taken off by way of guillotine.
