Peavy

Playoff baseball is here! It’s an exciting time of the year, isn’t it? Not so much for San Diego Padres ace pitcher Jake Peavy.

The Padres limped into the playoffs with a 82-80 record as champions of the National League West. Their first round playoff match up is against the Cardinals, baseball’s best team.

The two teams met this afternoon with Peavy (a very, very good pitcher) taking the mound for San Diego. The Padre ace ends up getting lit up by the Cards. After the game, it’s learned that Peavy has a fractured rib and he’s out for the rest of the playoffs. He got the injury last Wednesday night. The team was celebrating clinching the NL West title when one of his teammates elbowed him hard in his side. Ouch.
