Watching TV

  • West Wing - Does it really have to end? I’d given up on the show after Sorkin left. Since this is the show’s final season, I decided to tune back in for the last few episodes. To my surprise, the show’s pretty good again. How great was this week’s opening with Sam and Josh?! Not to mention the Santos/Bartlett scene - Wow!

  • Wonder Showzen - My new favorite show. While all of it doesn’t work, the 60% or so that does is brilliant. I applaud the show for the great lengths it goes to try to offend. Last week’s Onion has an interesting interview with the show’s creators.

  • Big Love - The show is starting to pick up steam. What was up with Roman’s son in the motel room with the male prostitute, banging his head against the wall?! Next week looks great with Bill taking his parents in to stay at his house. Bill’s Dad is awesome.

  • 24 - After slaming the beginning of the season because of Palmer’s death, I’ve come around. Big thumbs up from me on the season so far. Peter Weller is a bad ass. Any action movie/program is only as good as its villain. Weller and the guy that plays Logan are pretty good ones.

  • Lost - My patience is wearing thin.

  • The Office - Who’d have thought that the American version would be as good as the BBC version? Dwight Schrute is one of the funniest characters in recent memory.

I know that most of HBO’s core audience of devouring machismo like Deadwood, Entourage, or the Suckpranos (as I call it) probably isn’t into the domestic salt lake 3 way that is Big Love, but it’s really really damn good and I’m blown away each week by every facet of it.

One of the best dramas I’ve seen, Love every minute of it. Glad you’re watching Chuck.
