The Break Up - The worst time you'll have at the movies this year
Last night Connie and I caught an advance showing of The Break Up. I enjoy the occasional romantic comedy. I like Vince Vaughn. I’m not a Jennifer Aniston fan, but I really dug her in Friends With Money. I was ready to give this one a try. Have you ever been stuck in a room, car, etc. with a...

Punching
The Onion always has a USA Today-like color statistical graph on the lower corner of their front page. A few years ago they ran one that was exceptionally funny. It was “Who most deserves a good old fashioned cock punching?” Among the leading candidates were Freddy Prinze Jr and Jared from Subway. If that question were asked today, I...

2 Days Until Camping
This weekend I’ll be taking my first camping trip as an adult. As hard as I lobbied for the group to stay at a nice resort on our getaway, my suggestions fell on deaf ears. So, between the dangers of bear attacks and encounters with the uncivilized forest people, let’s hope I make it back alive....

Lunchtime Internet Browsing - Gnarls Barkley, Wayne Brady, Steven Seagal and that lady who got punched in the face
I like to look at things on the internet. Here are some of the things I’ve been looking at while eating lunch. My old cohorts at Atlantic Records have done a great job with building the hype around the new Danger Mouse project, Gnarls Barkley. I picked the disc up last week. It’s really good. This might be the funniest...

Go Cavs
The NBA really hasn’t been of great interest to me over the past few years. I enjoy the sport, but am no better than a casual fan of pro basketball. Guess what though? I’m 100% tuning in for the rest of this Cavaliers/Pistons series. David Stern has got to be doing cartwheels over the way this is going. Who...

The Return from the Rapids
I’m back in town after a wild week in WI Rapids. My trip highlight: taking a nice long swim at the hotel’s pool. Near the pool was their gameroom with a Lethal Weapon 3 pinball machine. I was going to play but I figured that I was too old for that s#@t! Thursday night I caught a showing of...

Wisconsin Rapids Day 2 - Taco John's Rocks!
I’m having a blast here in WI Rapids with the Postal crew. My highlight of the second day was the Taco Bravo from WI Rapids premier dining establishment, Taco John’s. I talked with Andy E. earlier in the day and told him about my dining options. He recommended the Bravo. It was delicious. If you ever find yourself at...

F@#k you, David Blaine
It pains me to admit that I watched the David Blaine: Drowned Alive TV special. What compels people (myself included) to watch this crap? I’ll tell you. It’s the secret hope that some will go terribly wrong. First off, let’s talk about the show’s title. Drowned Alive? Most of the time that I hear the term “drowned” it’s associated...

Summerfest Lineup 2006
Don’t click on this. I could go into my annual rant about Summerfest’s uninspired music lineup. Look for yourself. Instead, I’ll give the fest props for booking Merrill Nisker aka Peaches who is opening for Nine Inch Nails and Bauhaus. She’s one of my sister’s favorites. Here are the acts that I’ll try to catch this year 7/2 Nine...
