My Fantastic Weekend

Wow! I had quite a weekend. Let me tell you about it.

Friday: It was a hard work week so I treated myself to a late matinee of Beerfest. Very funny. After the movie I met up with the gang at the Palemino for a couple of beers. Over drinks, Bryan was convinced to put his Mr. Risk title on the line for the first time in nine months. We headed over to THE CENTER OF POWER and rolled some dice. Bryan played a great game. It was his to lose. Unfortunately, his hopes of retaining the title were dashed when he made a late game mistake that allowed Les to win. Congratulations Les Hermann, Mr. Risk Summer 2006.

Saturday: A HUGE thank you goes out to all of my great friends for their support of Jake’s Picnic. It was a wonderful event. The weather was beautiful. The turnout was big. Thank you all very much.

After the picnic, Bryan, Judy, Jeff, Erica, Connie and I went to Japanica for some Hibachi action. Erica told the staff that it was her birthday. They did some crazy birthday song celebration thing. It was awesome. From here on out, everytime I go there I’m telling them it’s my birthday.

Sunday: At the beginning of summer Andy, Les, Bryan, Dan and I began our own version of TV’s “The Biggest Loser”. It was a weight loss competition, similar to last year’s moustache contest. I’ve been watching what I’ve been eating lately because the weigh in was held on Sunday right before our fantasy football draft. The winner (who loses the most weight) gets a pat on the back. The loser (who loses the least, if any weight) has to wear a diaper.

The final results:

  • Les: -5
  • Me: -6
  • Andy: -8
  • Dan: -11
  • Bryan: +3

Nice work, Dan! Enjoy the diaper, Bry! If you want a preview, click the picture above to enlarge.

One of my favorite events of the year is fantasy football draft. As commissioner (for life), Bryan runs a tight ship. Too bad he drafted such an awful team…again. Anyway, good job with the draft, Bry. It should be another great year.
