Chuck saw The Puffy Chair last night

First, I’ve got to say Netflix sucks. I’m very disappointed with the service. I’ve only been a member with them for about a month and I’ve already had to report 4 DVDs missing so far. Not to mention, I’ve had movies delivered that were so scratched that they were unwatchable.

Anyway, They delivered a movie called The Puffy Chair. I watched it last night. Wow! I was blown away. The story is pretty simple, a guy and his girlfriend take a road trip to give his father a birthday present, the chair. The movie, which is shot entirely on hand held digital video, has an intimate and a very real feel to it. It’s the best thing I’ve seen in a long time.

Really? I love Netflix. The weird plus I have is that a netflix distribution center 18 miles from my front door so the turn-around there helps a lot. I’ve never had a lot of problems. I think it could be in the movies you rent, Chuck. I always thought that a lot of counter-culture movies probably sit in some bong-filled flop house on college campuses for 3 months in the Netflix circulation. You should probably just stop renting “Half-baked” or “Friday after Next” and stick to art-house fair like “Portrait of a Lady” and you’ll be fine.
