The Ten - Movie Review
I love just about anything that comes from people involved with the comedy troupe, The State (of ’90s MTV series fame) including stuff like Reno 911, Stella and Wet Hot American Summer. I know this type of comedy isn’t for everyone, but if you dig absurd humor, you’ll want to catch The Ten ASAP. It’s ten short stories, each one inspired by one of the ten commandments. All of the members of The State make an appearance along with an array of other actors including Liev Schreiber, Winona Ryder, Oliver Platt, Paul Rudd, and Jessica Alba. The stories involve neighbors who compete to obtain more cat scan machines than the other, a woman who falls for a ventriloquist’s dummy, a surgeon with a questionable sense of humor and many others. I’m stop there because this is the kind of movie that the less you know going in, the more you’ll enjoy it. Trust me on this one.
